14 Week Old Aussie Shepherd Peeing

We have a 14 week old Aussie Shepherd who pees when someone comes in the house... even though we have gotten company to not get excited over her. Any time she gets excited, she pees... is there any way around this?

She is still a baby. If your vet has checked her out and says there is no physical reason, she probably just needs to get a little older. When it happens, try not to call attention to the accident. Make sure you take her out before company is to arrive. This might help.

Your aussie pup is just being overly excited, and submissive. This is ok! She will grow out of it! The best thing to do is to have your visitors ignore her until she is in a calm state of mind. Then and only then, can they acknowledge her and only CALMLY! Don't allow them to talk loudly or in the typical 'puppy voice' high pitched, make a big fuss over her, get her excited, etc. When she is calm, THEN they may talk to her and pet her, play fetch with her etc.
When you have company, you can also put her in a 'down stay' until she settles down, and then 'release' her when calm and then allow her to go visit. Teaching her a command such as 'Settle'(this is what I use) is very useful in many situations. HOPE THIS HELPS!
