I have a 6 week old Australian Shepherd. He is very timid and seems to be hot all the time.

6 weeks

Why do you have a 6 week old pup? Are you the breeder? He should still be with his littermates and is too young to leave his mom. Pups should not leave until they are at least 7 or 8 weeks. Of course he is stressed. That is why he is timid and panting. Take him back to the breeder for a couple of weeks.

I got my aussie and lab at the same time, both were 6 weeks old. Yes, I heard that you should wait until 8 weeks old, but both breeders did not adhere to that rule obviously. Just give him lots of love/attention. As for being too hot, they pant a lot, it's normal for them.
