Dove Cresswell's Puppy & Dog Training Online - Sample Lesson

ADOPTED - USA,TX, 1 1/2 Years Old, Crash

Crash is a 1 1/2 year old neutered male, also micro-chipped. He is house broken and has basic obedience training and is current on all shots. He also gets heartworm and flea prevention monthly. We are having to give him up because he chases our horses. We are in Elgin, TX which is 30 minutes east of Austin.

He has a great easy going disposition and gets along GREAT with other dogs. You can take away his food, toys, or treats/bones and he could care less. He just loves attention and loves to play.

He will chase things so best to walk him on a leash. He will stay in a fenced yard especially if with another dog and we have boarded him a few times and he does fine boarding.

He sleeps in the house at night and can be left un-attended inside as long as items are put up. He has never chewed on furniture but will chew on magazines, shoes, etc.

He LOVES water and we have taken him to the lake and he had a swimming pool in the summer.

I know he will make a great companion for someone (w/out horses) :)

Further Info:

• We have had Crash since 3/27/2010, he is a 1 1/2 year old neutered male-blue merle, also micro-chipped
• Monthly heartworm and flea control religiously
• Up to date on all shots
• Loves other dogs and very playful, easy going
• Has had basic obedience training at Triple Crown in Hutto, TX and does great on a leash but if tied up for any amount of time, must be on cable tie out or he will chew through leash. We have also boarded him at Triple Crown a few times with our other dog and he does great there.
• House trained and sleeps in house at night but cannot leave in house completely unattended unless everything is put up-has never chewed on furniture, just small things laying around like magazines, shoes, etc.
• Loves to chase things which is the reason for the adoption, he chases our horses but will also chase anything that runs from him (cats, rabbits, etc.) so best to walk on leash
• Has been around neighbor?s kids and does fine, we don?t have kids of our own but he definitely gets along w/everyone who has come to our house
• Loves water and loves to swim and loves to be sprayed with hose

Have you had an Aussie before? They are herding dogs - so herding the horses would be natural to him. We have 2 Aussies - a mini blue merle and a toy black tri. They try to herd us all the time - they even herd each other.
