Aggressive Aussie

by Bethany
(Greenville, SC)

We have an 11 month old blue Merle and 4 children ages 12 to 4. We raised him from 8 weeks thinking he would do better with our children if he grew up with them.

Around 4 months ago I started wondering about some aggressive signs he was showing, like bearing his teeth and growling at the kids or their friends. As time went on it got worse and worse.

He has now aggressively bitten two children to the point of drawing blood. I keep him on a leash or confined when kids are around but I'm finding with the amount of activity that goes on, I can't be on top of it 100% of the time and accidents happen.

I keep trying to train him out of it, but I'm getting nowhere. I've done obedience classes, trainers coming in house for training, sent him for two weeks while we were out of town to his trainers house for more training, etc.

I'm to the point where I need to find a new home for him without children, which is heartbreaking. Any advice?
