Aggressiveness In Toy Aussie

I have a Toy Aussie, one and a half years old. He gets along wonderfully with my family, but goes crazy around other dogs and people. We call him the Tasmanian devil dog when that happens. I had an Australian Shepherd many years ago that was not aggressive at all. He was great with everyone until I got him neutered at 6 months old... any advice?

Aggressive after neuter
by: Anonymous

You might want to check what medication was used during the neuter. Our mini aussie was neutered at about 6 months also and had an awful reaction to the drug Ace used to calm him before the neuter. Displayed aggression and acted crazy. Is doing better now. Also should possibly check into the mdr1 mutant gene. MARS (mini aussie rescue and support) was very helpful.
