Aussies and Border Collies: A Good Combination?

I have a 1 year old Aussie. A most fabulous boy!! I have been wanting to adopt a Border Collie to live and play with us. Last week a master trainer told me that the two breeds do not make a good combination because their learning styles are so different. Is this true?

Border collie Vs Aussies

They are two different type of herding dogs, But I know people who have both. Just realize they are different in learning, how they do things and
what is expected of them. Aussies are more willing to please you. Border Collies sometimes don't have an "off" switch.
It depends on what you think you can handle.

I have an aussie and a lab.....they pick up different things from each other. The lazy lab isn't so lazy anymore and the aussie has someone to run with. Takes the load off me.

I have both!!!

If I had it to do over again, I would have a boy and girl, not 2 girls. The girls fight; but my Aussie is a Double Merle and she's deaf which complicates it a bit. The breeds together are fine; just different styles of learning. Both are high energy and need LOTS of exercise. Get a fenced in yard if you don't have one, they will be fine then.
