Tug of War

Some Aussies won't go for this game, but it can be a good quick tension releaser if your dog is getting bored. You can play this game with a nylon bone or other chew toy, but it works best with a rope toy.

Another point needs to be raised here about being the leader: you need to make sure you win more tug of wars than you lose. While it's supposed to be purely a game, everything that happens in a dog's world relates to status and the pack hierarchy. If she beats you every time, she might start thinking she's in charge.

On the other hand, if you have a very submissive dog, letting her win at competitive games can actually be a great way to help her become more confident.
