Dog Diseases In Hotel/Motel Rooms And Rest Stops

We will be traveling across country in May and I was wondering if anyone had heard of pets getting sick from the hotel rooms? I know that some hotels don't clean carpets after another pet has been there.

Then there's the rest stops, I'm concerned about that too.

Blu will be 6 months on May 25th.

I dont know what types of diseases could be picked up but I would be making sure your pups vaccinations are up to date along with flea & worming treatments just to lessen the risk of picking anything up at rest stops/parks etc. Here in NZ most places wont allow dogs in hotels rooms so the dogs are trained to sleep crated or caged in the car (with ventilation of course!). Some places will allow dogs inside but they must be crated when inside the hotel room.
