Aussie in heat
by: Anne

Don't panic. I have heard of Aussies not coming into heat until almost two years of age. I hope you are not breeding her on her 1st heat. She needs to grow and should have some health clearances done before you breed her. Please don't breed her until she is 2 yrs old, for your aussie's sake.

WOW! You sound like it is dyer that you breed her! This concerns me... BUT, don't freak out. Like the other comment, some take longer to develop. My present aussie didn't come in heat until she was 13 months old. She was x-rayed for hips/elbows and given a clean bill of health at 25 months old. Give her a chance. You can't rush these things. And PLEASE, PLEASE wait til she is at least 2 years old!
