Hair Pulling

My 11 month old Aussie is pulling out the hair on his left foot where his pad is and its causing his pad to bleed really bad, what am I doing wrong and what can be the cause of this? HELP!

Are you having him groomed or grooming him yourself so that the fur between his pads is cut out? Maybe check to be sure he doesn't have a bite of some kind or a cut. Also check with your vet. Your puppy could be having an allergic reaction to the grass or pollens. Wipe his feet with a wet cloth when he comes in from outside. Your vet might also recommend some OTC medicine for allergies or cream for the itching.
