most people over feed
by: Adrian B

I am not a breeder and so I can only comment on my own experience.....our dogs as adults of 2.5 years have 1 cup of good quality dry food and 1 cup of a home made casserole type food which has Kangaroo mince, Veges, Pasta or Aborio Rice mixed in ....in total its just 1/2 a kilogram in weight daily ....they both maintain a healthy 22 kilograms...... a dogs stomach is only as big as an orange and most people over feed them.....
in the case of a puppy I would halve that twice a day and increase its weight slowly over a 3 month period, it might be funny to watch your puppy roll around on its overfull tummy but its not healthy..... your vet or breeder should advise on feeding and diet in general...... and if you want to train well dont feed to soon before teaching your puppy to do any tricks , they just wont be interested ;-)
