Working on this website is a labor of love. I have had such fun creating Australian-Shepherd-Lovers.com and have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people through this site that I can't really call it work. I suppose that's the first part of my website secret. Build a website about something you are passionate about, something you will enjoy "working" on.

Regardless of how much you love your website though, there is far more involved in creating a successful site. It's no fun putting your heart and soul into a website that nobody ever visits. This is especially true if you want to sell products, services or information. Either way, having visitors is essential to the success of your site, but we'll talk more about that later...

Everyone has an idea for a website. Even if you don't think you do, trust me, it's in you somewhere. It may come from your years of experience in your work life, or from a hobby you enjoy, or places you've visited and love. The question to ask is "What do I really enjoy doing?". The seeds of an idea for your website are in the answer.

Others know exactly what they want to build a website about. The internet is a great marketing tool for anyone with a traditional business offering products, services or information.

This is where many people get stuck. They get overwhelmed with all the technical details and the dream begins to fade.
