My Best Friend : (

by Anna

My Mr. Boots 12/14/00 - 9/21/14 I lost my best friend to degenerative myelopathy. I truly loved him with all my heart and soul. We have alot of wonderful memories together that will stay in my heart forever. I feel like there's a huge hole in me now. Can't even believe this is real, that's he's gone. Mr. Boots has been my shadow for 14 of my best years. My Mr. Boots I love you so much and will never forget you. xoxo always

I'm so sorry for your loss. I went through a similar situation in Feb of 2013. I lost my best friend too. I felt so empty and lost because I was so used to having my dog Georgie always under my feet, every where I went, and we just understood each other. I have never had that type of relationship with a dog. I waited awhile and after I couldn't bare it, I got two pups. Although I have found a place in my heart now for them, they are nearing two years old now, its still nothing like my relationship with Georgie. Maybe down the road who knows. But it did help get me over the pain of losing Georgie. Some people say you should wait. It's ultimately up to you. I think there are a lot more pros than cons to getting another dog. I suggest you try a different breed. Its hard when you get the same, you compare a lot. Don't know if that would bother you or not. The pain will get easier in time. Hang in there. My heart feels for you.

I am so sorry for your loss of Mr. Boots. I know you gave him as much love as he gave you. I know the pain is hard but try and focus on the happy moments to try and get through this pain. He is waiting for you on the Rainbow Bridge.

Thank you all for your kind words. This has been a a very hard time for me. The pain is so real and unbearable. I am looking into a new Aussie puppy, definitely not to replace but I do love the breed and want something positive to focus on.

I can feel your loss, And no words will help your Empty ness. Give your self some time. Then start looking for another Aussie, taking all the time you need, Breeders will and should understand, even if you want to look again at that one lil pup you see but not really sure. when you find that one lil soul that feels right you will know then thats the one.......Just remember not one lil wiggy butt .. will ever replace or be Mr. Boots .. But its then you will be able to open your heart once again to love another..good luck in your journey...
