New Puppy Weight Question

Our puppy was given to us, and the person got her from a backyard breeder. So we don't have much info about her background. Supposedly she is 9 1/2 weeks old. She does eat hard food just fine, and she seems happy and healthy. But she only weighs four pounds. Isn't that underweight?

She could be a mini or a toy, but don't worry, you have her now, so just give her the correct amount of food 3x a day, and she will be fine.
enjoy your puppy, and take good care.
by the way, she is so adorable!

If she is an aussie I would say that she is underweight. My aussie at 6 weeks old weighed 5 lbs.

I can't tell from the picture, but depending on what breed of dog, determines how big it will be.
