Spots On White Marking

I recently got my AKC registered red tri Aussie pup and was wondering if anyone else has seen this before. He has a few brown spots on his face on the white that are showing up more prominently as he gets older. Is this merling? It doesn't look like it, just spots. Has anyone seen this before? Is this a mis mark? The picture isn't the greatest but you can kind of see the spots. Thank you for your help.

Spots on Face

Yes, This common and no it is not a mismark, or merling.
From what I can tell of the picture it is a slight
coloration and if it gets darker and looks like freckles it is called "ticking".
Your puppy is fine. no worries

As Aussies get older their coloring can change. Your pup just has "freckles"-- normal coloring. Sometimes they get spots all the way down their legs. It is NOT merling.
