Tethering A 5 Month Old Aussie On Long Cable On Carport

by Lilly
(Virginia, USA)

My young Aussie loves to sit on our covered carport, which is open on two sides. She is on a long cable, has toys, water, sits in a chair some and watches nature. We are always at home when she is out there. Is there anything wrong with this practice?

We have also tethered our Aussie pup, one yr old now, on the porch or deck, as he likes to be outside watching the world go by. He won't stay out long by himself though, which is fine. There are laws in Canada about leaving dogs tied up for long periods. Sounds like your pup is happy and you are caring, so don't be bothered about it!
