Will My Puppy Have Blue Eyes Or Will They Change?

by Maridyth

I am getting to bring home my red tri puppy June 30, when he will be 8 weeks old. These are his eyes now. Will they stay blue or is this the normal puppy blue eyes and they will change to Amber?

Looks like they will stay blue. One looks like has a little green/amber in it. Our Jackson had same eye and made him unique. Our newest pup has one solid blue and one 1/4 blue. We think 1/4 may fade away but not sure. Our Zoey has one 1/2 blue and other amber.

This picture was taken at 6 weeks. Today he turns 7 weeks.

At that age--who knows? They could stay blue, change partly or completely. My blue merle had blue eyes at 8 weeks, but they changed later - the top halves are brown, the bottom halves are blue now that he is an adult.
