Australian-Shepherd-Lovers.com Newsletter #029

Hello <>,

Let's Take It To the Next Level!

Australian-Shepherd-Lovers.com has grown to become a fantastic resource for Aussie Lovers (if I do say so myself) and your support over the years has been very much appreciated. But I can do better and I want us to take things to the next level and I want you to be part of it! There are others who would love to know what you know. Share that knowledge with other Aussie lovers as a contributing writer to Australian-Shepherd-Lovers.com. Have you competed in Agility, Flyball, Therapy, Rescue, Herding, Show... or anything of interest to Aussie owners? There are others who are just getting started who would really benefit from an introductory article to get them on the right path. You can even follow that up with more articles to share intermediate and advanced information.

I hope you will seriously consider becoming a contributing writer and have your article(s) published on Australian-Shepherd-Lovers.com. You will (of course) receive a byline credit and if you have a website or offer products or services (like grooming, training, breeding, etc) your article will also include a link to your website. But you don't have to have a website... this is open to everyone who wants to join in.

Don't be shy. :-) If you have an idea for an article or have any questions please email me directly at anton@australian-shepherd-lovers.com.

Anton

All Bully Sticks Are Not Created Equal

When it comes to feeding our Aussies we take care to make sure they are getting top quality food that takes care of their nutritional requirements. We may even add dog food supplements to cover all the bases. Poor nutrition, preservatives and chemicals in dog food, dog treats and dog chews is a major factor in developing diseases in dogs. (See also: Dog Food Ingredients)

Bully sticks are one of the most popular treats for dogs (and owners because it keeps dogs amused for hours). But have you considered the quality of the bully sticks? How are they manufactured? Are they actually doing more harm than good? How can you get the best quality bully sticks without paying a fortune?

I've found a US based company that takes making the "best bully sticks for dogs" seriously. Not only do they pride themselves on making the best bully sticks but you can get them through their website at a reasonable price too. I hope you'll give them a try. And if you do I'd also love to hear from you what you think of their service and quality and how your Aussie liked the best bully sticks ever!

Photo of the Month

This time our photo of the month comes to us from Michele... Cody Bear is a 6 years old male Aussie (at time of photo) and a big love! He's truly amazing! Cody has a total of 5 flyball titles (FDCh-Gold). He’s trained in sheep herding and advanced agility and competes in frisbee and dock diving competitions. His longest dock diving jump was at 18 feet. His running speed has been radared at 35 mph! We also have participated in flyball and frisbee demonstrations at Dog Event/Shows, Pet Adoption Fairs, Expos and charity events. Cody was in an “Advair” (asthma medication) commercial and has done some video shoots as well. He’s also been seen on dog events on Animal Planet and ESPN. He's an all around athlete but most of all he's a one of a kind loving companion with a big heart!
