2 1/2 Year Old Aussie Started Growling And Snarling At My Wife

Hi, We have a 2 1/2 year old. She has been spayed. Within the last 2 months or so she started acting aggressive towards my wife; very guarding of a bone if she goes near she growls, snarls also does this with no bones around. If she tries to pet her she acts this way. Sometimes she just looks at my wife and starts this behavior. What is going on? Any help appreciated. She is trained, we both feed her, make her sit for everything and still acts up like this.
