3 Year Old Aussie Has Gotten Aggressive and Needs Training

Hi all! We have an Australian Shepherd who is three years old. She has gotten more aggressive this past year and we aren’t sure why. She is very protective and broke off the leash and attacked a neighbor and dog that was passing by.
That neighbor started a dangerous dog complaint against her and we are devastated. She is so loving 90% of the time but can get very protective and easily provoked.
Does anyone have any training tips? Does anyone know a good trainer in NY?
