I have a 6 month old Aussie mix and he is very timid. I was just curious as to what is the best way of beginning to train him?

Positive reinforcement training is the best with most dogs. I use clicker training with my dogs and they love it. They learn to think and figure out things for themselves. There is lots of info on the internet about clicker/positive reinforcement training.

Be gentle, lots and lots of praise and treats. If you get frustrated, stop training. Does not do you or the puppy any good.
