Adopting And House Training An Aussie

I am considering adopting an 1.5 year old Australian Shepherd. I've been looking for a dog as a new addition to my life, and it would be nice to finally have a hiking buddy. However, this dog has lived on a farm and has never been inside the house. How difficult would it be to train him, especially house training? Any suggestions on the situation? Is it hard to adopt an Australian Shepherd?
