Guide To Australian Shepherd Training & Care

Annie the Aussie

by Nicole

I rescued Annie just last week and she is about 1 1/2 - 2 years old. I never had an Aussie before and I couldn't be happier with her. I knew at an instant when I saw her picture online that was going to be my girl. We bonded instantly. Annie is severely afraid of men and cowers whenever hubby is around. Luckily hubby is a really nice guy, very patient and Annie has let him pet her everyday without running away or cowering. She even licks him on the hands and face! Quite the progress. Annie loves me and is great with strangers and children. Annie didn't know how to play with dogs or toys when she arrived home. Not to worry, she learned quickly and she is a very playful girl. Annie has a Golden Retriever sister Bailey and they get along fabulous! She is so cute and plays like a puppy. I'm looking forward to obedience training her when she gets more familiar with us. I've already started with the basics and she is a very smart and quick learner. I love her so much and I can't imagine being without her. I hope to rescue another Aussie in the future or possibly be a foster home for the dogs. I love how Annie stays by my side no matter where I'm at.
