Aussies In The Heat

by Lotty
(South Africa)

Hi all! What is your experience with aussies in a hot environment? We live in South Africa with nice winters, but summer-season go up to 35 celcius easy...

Is it true that by brushing their undercoat stays thin?

Thanks :)

Hi, we live in a southern state of australia, our winters are cold, but sometimes we get a very hot summer. As they have two coats that grow independently of one another at two different lengths, the undercoat sheds twice a year. regular brushing of the undercoat removes dead hair. This will allow proper airflow and releases oils from the skin to keep the fur properly weather proofed and healthy and to help prevent hot spots.

Cheers
