Australian Shepherd Has Tumor Near Heart and Has Fluid Drained From Belly

by Melanir
(SLC, Utah)

I was looking for support for a 9-year-old Australian Shepherd diagnosed with a tumor near his heart. Testing was done before a dental visit. He now has to be drained every 2 weeks as his belly fills with fluid. Sept 2022 3-6 months. It is expensive and time consuming.

Wondering if anyone has dealt with this. He also has a skin allergy. Any thoughts or suggestions?

If you seen him you would not think he was ill. He seems to be getting a little smaller, but since the day we received this heartbreaking information, it is almost like he is aware of his condition.

He was a happy, well mannered, excited, funny dog before. Now he is very vocal and blessed (spoiled and aware if it) almost as if he is living every day to the fullest. We are grateful for every minute with him.

He is my daughters dog and he was a rescue, but he actually rescued her. It has been a beautiful love story. He is my granddog and also my favorite male on the planet!
