Australian Shepherd Puppy Biting and Aggressive

by Liz
(Georgia)

I need some advice on how to handle an aggressive 10-week-old Australian Shepherd pup around young children. He is very loving and sweet but he is biting at my husband and I and tries to jump and playfully bite my 3 and 5 year old.

They are scared of him but they do like him. I am keeping him gated off from where the kids play. It is challenging to keep them so separate all the time but they are too afraid to be around him because he is so playful and hyper.

We waited so long to get him and we were so excited we are definitely bummed that he is a bit aggressive and biting. Of course we have tried ways to stop but nothing has really worked so far.

Any advice on helping him calm down and stop biting? Or maybe some hope that he will grow out of this?
