Can Black Tris Have Blue Eyes?

I thought only merle Aussies had blue eyes, I was always told the merle gene also was responsible for the blue eye. Now I see black tris advertised as having blue eyes.

blue eyes
by: Tom

Recently got a blue merle from a black tris mom and dad and both her eyes are blue. So now I have 2 unusual dogs. A blue merle with both eyes blue and a red merle with both eyes golden. First time I've seen these Aussies have the same color eyes in both eyes.

Help with breeding Aussie Shepherds

Love blue eyes on Aussie Shepherds. Hi can you breed a black tri with blue eyes to a blue or red merle with blue eyes or will you have deaf or blind pups?

Two blue eyes

Have a blue female merle. Can you breed with another tri with blue eyes? And is any dog with blue eyes okay to breed with her? I know to not breed two merle’s, not sure if two with blue eyes is ok though?
