Can My Australian Shepherd Move Across Country?

I am going to be moving to the other side of the country. We will have more land and space for my Aussie.

I am wondering if he will do okay with the move or should I let my brother keep him on his farm. I want to keep my Aussie with me but not if a move will be more harmful.

Loved the move

Years ago, I moved from California to Arkansas with my Aussie. From a city to 25 acres in the country. Jethro thought he had gone to heaven. His personality improved and he fell in love with his new home. It was a long drive but he was very happy with his new home, Besides, they need to be with the ones they love. Go for it.

BONDS

If your Aussie is bonded with you, then by all means please take them with you! Separation from their human would be more traumatic than moving with that person would be. (I'm hoping that you mean the Aussie would be traveling with you and not being shipped in the hold of an airplane.)

A Real Aussie is always up for something new

My Aussie Panda lived in five homes; one in France, four in the U.S. I can not imagine her not wanting to explore something new. What she always needed was exercise, contact with her flock and a challenge.
