Coat Color Related Health Issues

I am thinking about adopting a dilute black or better known as slate colored male Australian Shepherd. He is 2 and has no apparent health issues. I was wondering if there were any health issues (other than what you see in any other dogs of this breed or in life in general) seen with this coloration? I know that from birth you can diagnose hearing or sight issues with homozygous merle puppies, but I have not heard anything with these dilute black or slate type dogs. I have had a red merle and blue merle for years, so I know the breed fairly well, but this is a new one for me. Can anyone help me?
