Cut My Aussie's Fur To One Inch From Skin—What To Do To Help His Fur Grow Back?

I took my 12.5-month-old Aussie to our vet's groomer. They said it would be okay to cut Aussie to 1 inch from the skin. So, I naively trusted them, and after the damage had been done, I read more and more, and I am regretting getting him cut. Now desperately trying to find ways to help his coat grow back nicely. I will NOT be getting it cut by them again!

Cutting Aussie’s Coat
by: Anonymous

The number of articles I’ve read about Australian Shepherd owners getting their dog's coats cut is astonishing. Why is it even considered in the first place? These dogs have their coats for a reason - ventilation.

The groomers who are cutting/shaving their coats clearly know nothing about the breed and should be exposed for their cruelty.

In this day and age of fingertip information, there is no valid excuse for not knowing.

Do give your Aussie an omega 3 oil on its food to support a better coat.
