Double Merle Pups From Red Merle Aussie X Red Merle Aussie/Husky Mix?

by Kat H

So my husband and I have a male Australian Shepherd and a female half Husky half Aussie. We're thinking about breeding them in a couple years but a friend of mine mentioned that because they're both red merle, that there's a possibility of them producing double merle pups that could be blind and deaf. I was just looking for advice on whether or not to breed them. Since our female dog is half Husky half Aussie is it possible that it won't happen because she's two different breeds?

Please help!

Doesn’t matter on breed. If you breed merle with merle there will be health problems. Please don’t do that.
