Excessive Panting... What Is Excessive?

I have a very healthy nine month old Aussie and she seems to pant a lot. I try to keep the house very cool but notice this more at the end of the day, when trying to wind her down. Is this normal behavior for this breed, hair=hot and it takes a long time for her to cool down? I notice in the morning she is fine but by mid-day the panting starts and usually lasts until she goes to sleep.

Hot summer
by: Suzan

This has been a really hot summer. I have had to thin out my three girls coats and this seemed to help them keep cooler.
