How Can I Get My Dog Interested In Frisbee?

I have a almost 2 year old Australian Shepherd and I am trying to get her interested in playing frisbee. We play short sessions in the house where she loves it. But in the backyard she would rather chew on sticks and sniff around. Well she does chase rollers outside but that's it. How can I get her interested. Oh and does the type of disc matter?

My dog is the same way
by: Anonymous

My dog is the same. She isn't too enthusiastic. I started by trying to play tug o war with her with it. Then I would hold the frizbee about chest high and try to get her to jump up and bite it. Once she did that I started releasing it to her just as she bit on it. Then I moved to throwing it and eventually returning it to me barely. She seems to run back with it to a 20 ft vicinity to me. She just isn't too playful really. She is more lovey and relaxed. Does what your dog does, tries to chew on stix and sniff around. But you can give what I did a try? Good luck! : )
