How Much Exercise For An Older Australian Shepherd?

by Sweeney
(Philadelphia)

Hello! I recently adopted a wonderful 12 year old Aussie and I was curious about exercise. She does not really have much speed anymore, and isn't really interested in toys so our main exercise is long slow walks.

We do between 4 to 6 miles a day, usually split between morning and afternoon walks. She mostly sleeps the rest of the time, usually right by me. She will wake up and follow me to her next nap spot when I move rooms.

Is this too much? Does anyone have experience with Aussies of this age? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
