How to Stop My Australian Shepherd From Running Around the Chicken Pen?

by Kaylea
(Texas)

My Aussie loves to run around my mother's chicken pen when we visit my mother. It's gotten to the point that she's created a moat about a foot deep around it.

How do I get her to stop running around the pen when we aren't in it? She's not allowed in the pen, as my mom fears she will try to eat one.

So I understand she's going to run when we're in it, but when I'm trying to play outside with her she'd rather run around the pen instead of play.

I don't own chickens at my house, so I also understand that she's not used to them. But how do I get her to stop and come do other things?
