How To Stop Two Aussie Puppies From Biting, Jumping Up, And Getting Under Foot?

by Theresa
(Alabama)

I recently added two Aussie puppies to my family. They constantly walk and jump up at my pants and stay under my feet. I tell them "no" and pry their mouth off of my clothes or shoes.

As soon as I start walking again, they about trip me getting under my feet. They are not learning what "no" means.

Are they too young to put a shock/vibrating collar on?

I also have a 2 1/2 year old Boxer! They get along great. They are also chewing on wood furniture and pulling holes in rugs! Help!

Yes, they have chew toys and a huge yard to run and play in.

30 mins per day of separate and gentle leash training. Do each dog alone. It doesnt have to be real complicated: sit, stay, down, heel with constant and gentle correction and repeat.

The point is to get them used to individually obeying commands. Do this daily for a month and when they start the jumping, etc. and you command "sit", they will have a practiced basis for understanding what you want them to do. Right now, regardless your protestations to them, they think you're playing. Practice commands for simple tasks, like sit, stay, down, etc. and they will slowly begin to react more obediently when you want them to stop playing.
