Interested in Getting a Puppy. First Time Australian Shepherd Owner

My husband and I are not new to having dogs but are new to the breed. My husband likes the idea of running with his dog and my daughter (age 8) would love to have a playmate.

I know how to give lots of attention but I hear the breed is super high maintenance. I'm just looking for some advice on what it will look like to own an Aussie.
