Itchy Australian Shepherd

by Lilly

In warm, wet weather my Aussie gets very itchy. Would rubbing baking soda into her fur and then brushing it out help her?

Itchy skin

I have never heard of that, but since baking soda is fairly salty I don’t think it would be good for drying the coat. Not knowing your circumstances, but a regular deep brushing to remove dead hair, a thorough drying when the coat is wet, and maybe adding some fish oil to the dogs diet would help the skin and coat much more.
