Meet Murphy, The Miniature Dachshund/Miniature Australian Shepherd Mix

by Debbie
(Salisbuy, NC)

I adopted Murphy in October 2011 from my veterinarian. He was 8 months old and had been at the veterinary office since July. I thought he was a long hair Miniature Dachshund. I was halfway right. The other half being Miniature Australian Shepherd.

I was told he was found in the street and taken in by someone. They took him to their vet's office to be put up for adoption.

He is a bit stubborn, but sweet as the day is long. Great disposition. He had some digestive issues about 2 years ago. Vet found nothing after extensive blood work, ultrasound, x-rays and was treated for parasites.

I have taken him off all injections except rabies, because we live in N.C.

Another vet gave him a B12 injection and changed his food November 2017. So far, he’s doing good. No heartworm or flea and tick meds.
