Mini Aussies And Rabbit

by Claire
(Kansas)

Hi all, I am considering adopting a one-year-old Mini Aussie mix. I have never wanted a dog but fell in love with her at the pound. We currently have a very large house rabbit who spends nights in his cage but most of the day running free in our house.

Is it reasonable to expect that the two could learn to get along? Obviously we would never leave them alone together. Also, one day a week, the dog would need to be left alone for up to 9 hours as my mom and I are both gone. We have someone who can come over in the middle of the day to let her out. Do you think this is an ok situation to have a Mini Aussie?
