My Australian Shepherd Mix, Mr. Titan, Has Become Aggressive Towards Me

by Sarah
(Twisp, Wa)

This is Titan. He's a 5-year-old Aussie mix. Was told he's Border Collie, Aussie, and Heeler.

I have had him all his life and I recently got diagnosed with severe advanced MS. This last year he has become aggressive towards me. I am single and live alone. His activities have not changed. We still hike regularly and play every day.

I am looking for any tips that might help me find my "leader" status in his mind. It has come to the point where I am scared of his attitude as he has started snapping at me when I let him out or biting familiar people.

Any help would be huge. I worked so hard on his training when he was younger and to watch him ignore it is extremely discouraging.

Note from Anton: You can find out more about a video-based online dog training program that has becoming a respected leader at its core on this page.

In my opinion I believe you should immediately get him to the veterinarian. He could have a medical issue causing this change in behavior. Nothing to fool around with. Good luck.
