My Dog Loves to Lick and Chew

We want our Mini pup to stop licking our rugs and carpet excessively and chewing things he's not allowed to. We are redirecting his attention constantly with positive reinforcementand using bitter spray as a traing aid but his drive to lick and chew is very strong.

Any and all tips and guidance are welcome. Thanks everyone.

It will get better

Puppies just love to chew. I trust you are giving your pup a LOT of things that he CAN chew. When he's chewing on a forbidden thing, tell him LEAVE IT or NO and then immediately give him something he is allowed to chew. Praise him if he then chews the allowed thing.
