My Wonderful "Lucy"intheskywithdiamonds

"Lucy"intheskywithdiamonds

Right now to my left, sits my Miniature Aussie, Lucy. She is looking at me with, "those eyes." Some of you know what I am talking about, those eyes that say, "Me, me, me, look at me! Oh I love you. I'm cute!! Pet me!"

Lucy was born December 8, 2008, I got her August 14, 2009 from a local Miniature Australian Shepherd breeder, Denise Hillman. She was about a year old. She came to me with great manners and was well behaved. There were, however, somethings we needed to work on... It seemed to me that Lucy did miss her previous family, she seemed confused, sad, heartbroken. Her old name was Ruby, I believe she lived in Valparaiso, IN. For some reason, that name didn't attract me, didn't fit her new life style, didn't coincide with her unique personality. It took me a couple weeks and a few names to finally decide on the name Lucyintheskywithdiamonds. The name fits her perfectly. Her eyes remind me of the sky, that unique shade of light blue. They sparkle like 25kt diamonds.

Lucy is my best friend. I know her love will always be unconditional, unlike human relationships. She is silly and always wants my attention. Lucy follows me everywhere. She loves to run around with toys in her mouth. If you tell her, "Lucy, put a sock in it!" she will find a sock, shove it in her mouth, waggle her lil butt, and make this muffled howling, talking noise. My boyfriend and I came up with a name for it, it's called the "watoosie." When I am having a bad day, I know Lucy will make me feel better. She will do something silly, like fall off the bed, on purpose, just to make me smile.

I love my Miniature Aussie. Thank you for reading about my Lucy. Please let me know if anyone would like a funny story. I have tons.
