Need Advice About Iris Coloboma in Australian Shepherd Puppy

by Taylor S
(Ontario, Canada)

Hi there - we are supposed to pick up our new puppy, Sky, this week but the breeder has made us aware that she potentially could have iris coloboma. I’ve been reading that small cases are nothing to worry about but large coloboma can be a problem. Any advice?

I'm not a breeder but from what I have read online. You can not breed then as could pass on to pups. Also dog will be light sensitive and will probably want to avoid the sun or get sunglassesfor her.
