Needing Understanding On Aussie Energy

by Allie
(Austin, TX)

I have a 15 wk old Mini Aussie male named Kofi. He is normally very even keel in his energy, still pretty hyper but at a normal level.

But there are certain times of the day when I assume he is tired/overwhelmed and he will begin bolting around the room/house/yard in circles on no end with his ears straight back and usually this ends with him barking and biting.

Is this normal behavior or does this mean he is overwhelmed to an unhealthy amount? I try giving him space to calm down in a room alone and it usually doesn't help.

Needing suggestions!

Your pup just has the Zoomies! Most pups do this, often at the same time of day, and it can be fun to watch. If you have a soft toy or tug toy ready for him when he’s done it will usually stop the nipping and help him call down.
