Suddenly drinking a lot of water

Drinking a LOT of water can be a symptom of a disease. One of them is kidney disease, but there are other possibilities. It would require examination by a veterinarian to determine the cause of the excessive drinking.

Have you had your dog checked for diabetes; I would speak with your vet about a blood work screening.

Please take your dog to the vet! My brother-in-law's Aussie was just diagnosed with Cushing's disease where she drinks lots of water. Please have your dog checked.
