Question About Australian Shepherd That Is Grey and White

by Abby

My Aussie

My Aussie

I have an Australian Shepherd that is grey and white. He looks like a red bi Aussie except where the red would be he is grey.

Does anyone know if this is possible? Or maybe he has a little bit of a different breed to give him the grey and white coloring?

Thanks for the help.

Grey colour aussie

If that is your dog in the photo, I am seeing red, not grey. He looks like a red bi, as you said. Perhaps a different photo showing grey areas more clearly would be helpful?

He’s beautiful. Aussie said come in an array of colors. I have owned the breed since 1974 in California. I had a black and white Bi. So smart. Always got mistaken for Border Collie. Enjoy him.

Possibly Border Collie mix or just is diluted

Hello! Your dog is very pretty and he looks to me kind of like a Border Collie mix. If he is a purebred Aussie then maybe he just has the dilute gene?

Grey Aussie

Your lovely boy is a dilute, looks like a red dilute not a blue dilute (and I think I see copper points, which would make him a tri not a bi). The dilute gene is in the purebred Aussie gene pool, and he looks purebred to me.
Look up 'dilute Aussie' and you'll see examples.
