Question About Pink Eye Rims

We are looking at getting an Aussalier. Mini Australian Shepherd & Cavalier King Charles. He is a mismark with an all white face. Since he is a mix, he can't be a "lethal white"/ double Merle. He is the runt with pink eye rims. Are pink eye rims an issue? Are they a sign of eye issues? Will he be more susceptible to sun damage? He will be living in Florida. Thanks for any advice you can provide.

I might be wrong
by: Anonymous

I hope that someone corrects me if I am wrong, but it does look like (from a quick Google search) Cavalier King Charles spaniels might be able to carry the merle gene. I would do thorough research and talk to a veterinarian. I would not trust a "breeder" who is breeding and selling mutts. People incorrectly assume that a mixed breed will not have the same health problems as a purebred, but often breeding different purebreds together results in a puppy with the health problems of both breeds.
