Question About Whole Family Bonding With 6-Year-Old Adopted Australian Shepherd

We are hoping to adopt a six-year-old Australian Shepherd next week. We would like the dog to be engaged with the whole family (me, wife, teenage boy and girl).

What can we do to make sure it's friendly to all of us?

Unless the dog is really friendly right away, I would start slowly, everyone speak to the dog but don’t touch if it seems hesitant. Let it come to you. No loud commands or scolding. Take turns giving the dog it’s dinner. Everyone should then take the time to pay attention to it, playing or teaching some commands or tricks.

Take turns being the person who feeds the dog. Take turns walking the dog, training the dog, playing with the dog. Everyone should do everything with the dog.

Thanks for the tips

We will meet the dog on Saturday. There are three families who the foster is considering - it feels like a job interview/first date.
Hope the dog likes us and we like the dog.
