Recall Issues With 6 Month Old Australian Shepherd

I have a 6 month old Aussie who is very bright and able to pick up many commands very quickly (sit, stay, speak, shake, lay down, go in crate, etc.).

I am however, having serious issues with her coming when called. While inside, or outside on a long leash and actively working on this skill, she will sometimes follow the recall command, but not consistently. Off leash outside it is nearly impossible to get her to come to me without excessive time passing.

Any training tips or advice would be GREATLY appreciated. It's becoming increasingly frustrating each day!

I am only beginning to train my 9 week old Australian Shepherd puppy with this technique but so far it has been going great. I learned this from watching Youtube videos from a dog trainer Stonnie Dennis. What I have been doing is taking 50% of his food for the day and whenever I call him to come or he comes to me without me having to call him I give him a piece of food.
Like I said I barely started doing this but so far it has been going great. He always seems to be paying attention to me.
Hope this helps!
